ROADMAP: Optimizing Decarceration, Diversion & Restorative Justice
for Orleans Parish

The St Charles Center for Faith+Action and Ubuntu Village announce the Roadmap to Optimize Decarceration, Restorative Justice and Diversion.

Beginning in March 2020, the St Charles Center in collaboration with Ubuntu Village convened a working group of individuals from about two dozen organizations working in and alongside the criminal legal system in New Orleans to continue a conversation first started in May 2019. The purpose of the conversation was to consider the policies and programs that the New Orleans community needs to put into place to make the community safer while

• Incarcerating fewer people and

• Assuring robust and restorative diversion programs

The St Charles Center has agreed to become the fiscal sponsor for the Orleans Legacy Project (OLP). OLP is a grassroots, diverse group of New Orleans citizens who aim to bring the Orleans Parish Memorial Monument to New Orleans and install it in public space. Learn more with us!
